Paper Crafts + Winner

Wow, I feel as if I haven't written a post in for.ever!
I'm here today with the Papercrafts 12 Blogs of Christmas winner, and while I was at it, I figured I might as well show you my favorite card I had published in the Holiday Cards & More magazine...

I didn't have any religious themed stamps, papers or anything, so I used some old Christmas cards my brother gave me - thanks P.J!
I love this card because it's the only religious themed card I've ever had published, so it's the only one that truly shows at least a little bit of my faith. :)

Oh, and funny thing about the four cards I had in this issue - all the sentiments come from one stamp set - the Merriest Christmas Wishes stamp set! It was the only Christmas stamp set I had, so I'm glad it was so versatile and included so many sentiments! :)

Anyways, on to the winnahs!
I used Random.Org to find the winner of the Holiday Cards & More magazine, it picked number 46 (I can't show you the picture because, well, I don't know how to ;)) and that winner is.....Cat Craig!

And for my own little prize, the winner is el numero eight-o - Kasha!

Winners, please e-mail me with your shipping information so your prizes can be sent out asap! :)

I'm off to snatch a few hours of sleep before a volleyball tournament - wish me luck!
God bless!

Paper Craft 12 Blogs of Christmas Hop

Hello and welcome to Paper Craft's 12 Blogs of Christmas blog hop! You should've come on over from Meredith MacRitchie's blog - if not, you might want to start at the beginning - Paper Crafts Connection!
Today, twelve designers will be showing you projects using a sentiment from Paper Crafts free downloadable sentiments (you can find them HERE).
Of course, there are prizes involved!  Paper Crafts has generously offered up one commenter on every blog a copy of the new magazine!

I would also like to seize the moment and also giveaway a prize - however, to be quite honest, I don't even know what it is yet due to my lack of time to prepare anything, but I promise you it will be nice little packet of goodies! ;)

So a quick little note before the card - I don't usually 'do' this kind of thing, but again, I'm seizing the moment!
I just wanted to let you know that being a part of a Paper Crafts blog hop has always been a little dream of mine. I was a little sad starting college without having this dream come true, because I knew then that my papercrafting and blogging time would be cut severely on this new endeavor, and I figured my chance was gone.
However, God has been SO incredibly good to me - I didn't even ask and He fulfilled my wish! What a sweet, adorable God to know and fulfill my little wishes, which I didn't ask for, much less deserve!
So basically this little shout-out is due to me wanting to give back the honor to Him who rightly deserves it - and the one whose birthday we celebrate in this magazine! :) Deo gratias!

Now on to the card!
I'll admit, between volleyball and studying, I didn't have a whole lot of time to make something - I actually quickly put this card together just the other night, so I hope you'll forgive me if you think it under par! :)

Love the new Hero Arts Aspen Festive Ornaments stamp - as soon as I saw those adorable nutcrackers, I had to pick this stamp up!

Project Thursday {Pretty Packaging}

You know, when I first started crafting, I'll admit I thought the whole 'dressing up present/packaging' thing was a little dumb. I mean, why waste your time dressing up a package that the recipient is just going to rip through?
Since then, I've changed my mind. For one reason, I like to dress up things - it's just so darn fun! Secondly, the recipients usually save the packaging and really treasure it!

So here's a present for my sister (who's birthday is coming up soon), all dolled and prettied up using the Calender stamp set.

Her birth date...

I went with a lot of pink because it's her favorite color, even though I know the style of the packaging (shabby) isn't her favorite. Hey, I did say one reason I dress packaging up now I because I like it. ;)

Open the package up and you get a cute little owl whose wings spread open to reveal a little clock on his tummy!

Well, that's it for me today! I hope you enjoyed and thanks for stopping in!

Teacher

Hello all! Clare here today to show yo are a cool, fun, and inexpensive way to add hidden messages to your cards or layouts!

First off, the card...

And the videotaped technique..

If you're wondering where the hidden message is in this card, it's right behind the teacher sentiment! Just peel away the strip to reveal the hidden message - since I don't want to ruin the fun for the recipient, I didn't peel it away to show you here, but I did take a picture before I adhered the two pieces of paper together...

That's it! I hope you enjoyed my little tutorial, and that you'll give it a try!
Thanks for stopping in!

Project Thursday {Subtle Stamping}

Hi there! Clare here to show you a sweet little tag that displays the impact of subtle stamping.

The calender stamp from the Calender stamp set was stamped and clear embossed on this tag, providing a nice focal point for the flower but at the same time not being too obtrusive.

A few sentiments stamped, embellishments added, and we're good to go!

Thanks for stopping in with me today!

One week

...since I last blogged.
And what a week.
SO much stuff going on, it's ridonkulous! Good news is that today I get to be home for more than eight hours (which I usually spend sleeping) and I've got something to share.

Firstly, I want to thank you all for the sweet comments on my last post - you all make me blush with your kind, supportive words!

So here's my thank you. :)

I've never been so pleased with a one layer card I made (but then again, I think this is the first one ;))

Some additional coloring with colored pencils - I've seen lots of people with this stamp set doing this, so of course I had to try too. ;) Ooo, and there's also some subtle wet embossing going on as well...

I'm linking this up with Catered Crop - a new to me challenge blog. Just wanted to play along and give a shout out to their sponsor, Lilly Belle's. I've ordered twice from Laura, and she has been AWESOME. Got everything I wanted, at a reasonable shipping price, and with a coupon! Part I love most is that I was able to order everything from one place and only have to pay one (reasonable) shipping price!

Well, I'm off to spend my last few precious free hours with my family! Thanks for stopping in and God bless!
