Best Wishes

...to you today! :)
I'm in here today to share a little diddy made with some Melissa Frances '5th Avenue' pad for this weeks SSC's card challenge - I've seen some forum posts with people wondering where the site went, so here's a little explanation;
Judy, the owner, had to close the site because of some serious recurring health issues. The reason it was shut down so suddenly was so that she wouldn't have to pay Nings fee for another month (which she wouldn't be able to use). Anyways, the card challenge group is still going, just at the blog now! So if you've already played in some of the challenges but lost your entry when the site was closed, go ahead and link it up again! Just make sure to pay attention to the details in THIS post. ;)

And now on to that card. :)

I'm sorry if the photos look funny to you - I'm on a new (faster!) computer now that I'm editing my photos on. This computers screen apparently makes the photos look darker to me, because Heidi told me my photos  were overexposed last time I sent her an assignment with photos edited on this computer - whoops!

Gettin' dirty with acrylic paint and the stress-relieving ChipArt tool. I didn't really have a plan for this frame...I just wanted to paint and pound something! haha!
There is some pretty May Arts lace peeking out behind the ribbon, but it's on the left side, so you can't really see it from the angle I took my pictures. I dyed that lace light pink, and also dyed my tissue paper flower...guess I was just feeling adventures/messy that day!

That's it for me today - have a great one! :)

I'm back!

...and I had a great time! ;)

I am now going to show you some (extremely blurry, because our camera stinks) photos from the wedding just because I can. ;)
First off, the lovely couple...

The lovely couple stuffing each others face...

...or in my brothers case, stuffing his wife's ear. ;)

And the last blurry photo I'll put you through - me and a very good friend....

Now for some good news for you - I bought a couple packs of Hero Arts stamps on a good clearance at Michaels a week back, just so I could pass them onto you with the big discoutn. :) I'll have a post about that coming right up! :)

hello there!

...these unplanned blogging breaks always seem longer than the planned ones, and they also seem more...relaxing, I think.
My eight siblings and I were scrambling this past weekend to get our annual Fathers Day album completed on time, and my sisters birthday dinner/party is tonight. Add a (first to go!) siblings wedding this week on top of all that, and I think my absence is pretty well explained for. ;)
I have been feeling naughty for not snatching some time to go blog hopping though, so I plan to do that later this night after the party. I just know you've been up to some amazing things. ;)
Meanwhile, I'll leave you with this mini card, using some new (to me) My Cute Stamps...

Paper piecing some tiny little flowers...

Then finishing off with a tiny tag and a pearl...

Well, I've gotta dash - I'll be going down on Wednesday to the area near the church where the wedding will be, and then coming back on Sunday night, so you're spared from any more annoying blog posts from this procrastinating cardmaker until then. ;)
Thanks so much for stopping in!

i like ewe

...am I the only one who used to say this as 'ew-eee' instead of 'you'? Haha. ;)

Just quickly popping in to share a card made for this weeks Lawnscaping challenge - my first card (that I'm sharing ;)) with Lawn Fawn stamps!

Isn't that sheep too cute? I didn't want it to be so....flat, so I tried several ways of adding dimension.

Tissue paper.
Fail.

Punched circles, overlapping.
Fail.

Betsy Veldman's technique (because I don't have flocking).
Time consuming (I had to use the back of a scissors since I didn't have the distressing tool), but, success! :)
And here's my little fluffy sheep...

Makes me smile - hope it makes you smile too. :)

Thanks so much for stopping in today!

Wedding post!

...no, not me! ;) I know I've been blabbering a lot on here about my two siblings weddings, so I thought I'd show you some pics relating to them!
First, the invites I designed/supervised for my sisters wedding (since I've promised to share them)

My sis's main flower is the rose, so we did that for the invite - PTI's rose stamp set was the only one we could find that was big enough, so we used that.
Step one (after printing eighty-five invites, which is a whole 'nother story!): Stamp rose on each invite with pink ink - I happened to have Rangers 'Worn Lipstick', so we went with that.
I did most of these...

Step two: Heat emboss - what was I thinking?!
We had a little assembly line going - I stamped over the rose again with glue ink...

Here is the soon-to-be-bride adding the embossing powder - we didn't like any of the pink embossing powders we saw, so we just went over the stamped image with clear power.

A pic of the line we had going...

Junior bridesmaid (my youngest sister) doing the embossing - took her awhile to get used to the whole embossing thing, but she did get the hang of it!

And oila! Invites done! I originally planned to have two leaves coming out, but after the whole embossing thing, the bride decided that she wasn't up for that. ;) It might just be me, but I think she appreciates my crazy little addiction a bit more now. ;)

And look! Only one burnt invite! Haha! ;)

If you can stand some more pics, here are some from the bridal shower we had on Sunday (thanks - my throat was/is much better! :))
Here is the cake - a teapot, since my sister loves tea.

And some cupcakes to go with it. So yummy!

But even with all this sugary goodness, I think my favorite was this delicious fruit salad - all the berries were at their peak (well, for store bought, anyways), and it was super good!

Setting up the tea table - sorry for the terrible pic! The lighting was affecting this camera something bad!

And my beautiful sis opening up the bridesmaids present to her. It was too funny, because when she first took out the card and posed for the picture, she was holding it upside down! I started laughing and told her it wasn't positioned right, and then she flipped it again - to its side! She had to turn it around and really look at it to get the positioning right. ;)

Anyways, that's about it for now - thanks for putting up with all the pictures and I hope you enjoyed looking through them! :)

Sing!

Well, you can if you'd like - right now I've got a sore throat and some aches&pains, so I'm not going to be singing for awhile. ;)

But, as long as my activities are limited by this throat, I may as well catch up on some posting now.
Here is a card published in the April issue of CARDS.

FYI - I opened another blogaroo for my ribbon, kits and knick-knacks. It was confusing for me to do in on this blog, so I decided to just have a separate one. It's still new, and in the construction period, but if you'd like to take a look (got some new colors!), go HERE.

Anyways, enjoy your weekend - we're holding my older sisters bridal shower here tomorrow. I sure hope this throat is better by then!

PS - thanks for all the sweet comments on my last post! I love when you chat back with me! :)
